Okay, this is hardly a project, just a part that is going to be used for a future project. I was looking into Tesla coils and learning about different types of TC's that can be made. Looking through Facebook marketplace as one does, I saw an amazing offer on two NST's (Neon Sign Transformers). For $75 I was the new owner of two 12kV 30mA NST's. The guy who sold them to me kept them when he was doing the electricial work for the Pacific Fair upgrade.
*** WARNING *** NST's are very dangerous, if you don't have a good understanding on grounding and insulators, please educate yourself before touching anything from mains power. The NST's are configured in parallel in order to double the current to 60mA and give off better arcs. I used a Variac to have more control over the Jacobs Ladder.
So yeah, cool demonstration of high voltage with a Jacobs Ladder, I will get to the tesla coil eventually....
